Wilson Shocked and Saddened by Indian Prime Minister Embrace of War Criminal Putin

Washington, DC – Congressman Joe Wilson issued the following statement on this week’s visit between India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and war criminal Putin in Russia:

     “It is shocking and saddening that the leader of the world’s largest democracy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, with responsibility to represent the ideals of freedom and exemplify the best of human rights, embraced war criminal Putin in Moscow.

     “Initiating his murderous invasion and rape of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, dictator Putin should be unequivocally condemned.

     “My father served with the Flying Tigers for a free India opposing dictators, and now India gruesomely embraces a dictator the day Putin directed a rocket attack on a children’s hospital in Kyiv.

     “India should be a beacon for democracy, not a supplicant to despots.”
