Wilson Statement on President's Budget for FY2012

Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02) issued the following statement in response to the release of President Obama's FY2012 budget proposal:

"The President's budget for FY2012 does nothing to address the issue of Washington's four year spending binge. The proposed spending freezes offered in this plan are unsustainable - they do not provide a path to fundamental reform. The President's budget destroys jobs by adding $13 trillion to the national debt and imposing a $1.6 trillion tax hike. It continues to create hurdles for job creation by spending too much, taxing too much, and borrowing too much.

"I support fundamental cuts that address the issues facing our economy today. We cannot expect to spend our way to prosperity. House Republicans are committed to combining sound policy with practical solutions. We need to cut spending, keep taxes low, and provide the necessary tools to jump start job creation in our economy."
