Wilson Praises Decision to Build MOX Plant at SRS

March 31, 2005
Editorial
Today, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) expressed his support for the U.S. Department of Energy's decision to construct a facility at the Savannah River Site (SRS) to manufacture mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for eventual use in commercial nuclear power plants."This decision is a big step in the right direction," said Wilson. "The facility will create new jobs for South Carolinians and will allow SRS to play a key role in the Department of Energy's plans to convert plutonium into MOX fuel. I'd like to congratulate SRS and also express my appreciation to Secretary Bodman for all of his efforts. As this process continues, I'll remain supportive of this facility."###
