Rep. Joe Wilson Praises House Passage of FY19 Defense Bill Conference Report

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC), Chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness, released the following statement praising the House passage of the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act conference report:

As Chairman of the Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee and one of Speaker Paul Ryan’s conferees, I strongly support the FY2019 National Defense Authorization Act and am grateful for the House passage of the conference report today.

This report represents a huge win for South Carolina, as it provides critical funding for Fort Jackson and continues construction of the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MOX) at the Savannah River Site.

The conference report also contains policy and funding initiatives that provide our military the resources necessary to restore readiness and rebuild combat capability. Thank you Chairman Mac Thornberry for your leadership in expediting this important legislation in record time.”
