Rep. Wilson Statement on House Passage of the Continuing Resolution
Washington, D.C.- Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02) released the following statement after the House passed a continuing resolution that funds the government through February 16th.
“Today, House Republicans passed a necessary solution to keep the government’s doors open. Continuing resolutions are not the way that our Government is supposed to work, but represent the only alternative to prevent a shutdown. I am grateful that this bill will avoid an interruption of the vital missions at Fort Jackson and the Savannah River Site, as well as extend funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program for six years.
While not ideal, I hope that this CR will provide the time necessary to produce a spending bill that will finally appropriately fund our military.”
