June 25, 2015

Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02) issued the following statement after Speaker John Boehner appointed him to the Conference Committee for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2016.

"I am grateful to support our troops, military families, and veterans. National defense should be the first priority of the national government. As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, I am committed to working with the entire Conference Committee to advance this bipartisan legislation," Wilson said.

Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Mac Thornberry, made the following statement praising Congressman Wilson's appointment:

"Congressman Joe Wilson is a leader in the House Armed Services Committee, and I am grateful to have him on the Conference Committee.
