WILSON APPOINTED TO NDAA CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

On November 18, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) was appointed to the conference committee for this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

"I am thankful to serve another year on the NDAA Conference Committee for fiscal year 2021. As a veteran, the father of four sons who have served in the military overseas, and Senior Member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am wholly committed to supporting our servicemembers, veterans, and military families," said Congressman Joe Wilson. "Last year's committee efforts were successful, and I will continue to promote peace through strength and work to champion legislation that benefits South Carolina. I look forward to working with the entire conference committee to advance this bipartisan legislation."

He is not only a longtime member of the Armed Services Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee, he is a veteran and the father of veterans," said House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy. With his previous NDAA experience, I am confident Joe will bring a keen eye for detail, deep institutional knowledge, and a determined desire to ensure the priorities of our men and women in uniform are passed by the conference committee."

Members of the NDAA Conference Committee, appointed by the Speaker of the House and approved by the full House, work together to resolve differences between House and Senate-passed versions of the bill that funds the Department of Defense and the Armed Forces of the United States. Congressman Wilson is a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee and serves on the Strategic Forces and Readiness subcommittees.
