September 16, 2002
Today, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) announced his co-sponsorship of H. Res. 512, which declares that the U.S. House of Representatives honors the Indian American Friendship Council (IAFC)."Congratulations to Mr. Krishna Reddy and the IAFC for their work on building a stronger relationship between India and the United States," said Rep. Wilson. "I appreciate Mr. Reddy's outstanding leadership and the work he's done for the IAFC over the years."The IAFC, which was founded in January 1990, has been successful in carrying out its mission of improving United States-India relations, supporting developing countries, promoting global democracy, protecting the interests of the Indian-American community, and educating Members of Congress. "I was honored to attend the annual legislative conference and dinner that the Indian American Friendship Council held earlier this summer on Capitol Hill," said Rep. Wilson. "I look forward to working with this wonderful organization in the future. After all, India is an important ally, and the IAFC is an excellent advocacy group that is doing a great job of bringing the two largest democracies together as friends."###
