Wilson Introduces Resolution Condemning North Korea

Feb 6, 2017
Press Release

Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02) introduced a bipartisan resolution today condemning North Korea’s development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and calling for the United States to apply all available sanctions:

“For too long, the dictatorship in North Korea has become emboldened—testing nuclear weapons, but also testing and expanding their ballistic missile capability. Just last month, North Korea announced their plans to test an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
“It is time to stand up to North Korea’s aggression--an ICBM with a nuclear warhead is a direct threat to the United States and our allies, especially South Korea. This resolution is a key first step towards achieving peace through strength.”

The bipartisan legislation is co-sponsored by: Rep. Seth Moulton (MA-06), Rep. Mike Rogers (AL-03), Rep. Ted Yoho (FL-03), and Rep. Brad Sherman (CA-30).

Tomorrow, Rep. Wilson will discuss his legislation at the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s hearing on Countering the North Korean Threat: New Steps in U.S. Policy.
