Wilson Meets with Speaker of Iraqi National Assembly

On September 20th, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) and Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo (D-GU) participated in a private meeting with Dr. Hajim al-Hassani, Speaker of the Iraqi National Assembly. Congressman Wilson expressed his appreciation for Dr. al-Hassani's visit, his continued support for the mission in Iraq, and his strong confidence in the Iraqi government's ability to establish a flourishing democracy. Congressman Wilson made the following remarks about the meeting: "I was very grateful to have the opportunity to meet with Dr. al-Hassani, a man who risks his life daily to ensure that Iraq continues on the road to democracy," said Wilson.
