Press Release
Today, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) issued the following statement regarding House passage of the Class Action Fairness Act, a plan to curb class action lawsuit abuse in state courts. “Today, the House acted to crack down on frivolous lawsuits that wreak damage on the American legal system. The passage of this legislation is an important step forward in our efforts to end junk lawsuits that provide little or no value to consumers, but return millions in legal fees to trial lawyers,” said Wilson. “Class action reform will protect truly injured Americans, help our small businesses, and improve our judicial system. I urge President Bush to quickly sign this bill into law.”
