Wilson Statement on Foiled Terror Plot

Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02), member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities, today made the following statement regarding the foiled terror plot in Great Britain. British officials have arrested 21 people who planned to use liquid explosives to target airplanes flying between Great Britain and the United States.

“Since 9/11, the United States has worked hand-in-hand with our allies around the world to protect our homeland and defeat terrorism abroad. Today’s announcement that British officials disrupted a planned attack and have arrested 21 people in connection with the plot is evidence that our efforts are working.

“The Global War on Terror is real. As we move forward in the days ahead, we must maintain our resolve to win the War and protect American families.”
