Wilson Statement on the Passage of the Bipartisan Budget Act

October 28, 2015

Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02) made the following statement after voting in favor of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015:

"I am grateful the House passed the Bipartisan Budget Act today. This bill provides adequate funding for our troops, their families, and veterans, and offers service members certainty for the future. Additionally, this bill will create jobs by building a healthy economy that implements common-sense reforms to our entitlement programs, protects Social Security, prevents our government from defaulting on its obligations, and stands up for conservative principles by dismantling a key provision of Obamacare.," Wilson said.

"Most importantly, since it is fully paid for, this act will reign in liberal, out-of-control spending."

The Bipartisan Budget Act passed the House on October 28, 2015 by a vote of 266 to 167.
