Congressional European Union Caucus Statement on Georgia

Washington, DC - Congressmen Joe Wilson (SC-02) and Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), co-chairs of the Congressional European Union Caucus, released the following statement on the situation in Georgia:

“As co-chairs of the Congressional European Union Caucus, we are both outraged and inspired by the images coming out of Tbilisi, where thousands of Georgian citizens are tirelessly mobilizing in defense of the people’s decided path to EU accession and the sovereignty of their nation. We condemn the violent assault on peaceful protestors by pro-Russian actors in their attempts to undermine democracy. The will of free people will prevail.”
