Wilson, Boyle EU Caucus Statement on Georgia’s Candidate Status for the EU

Washington, DC – Representatives Joe Wilson (R-SC), and Brendan Boyle (D-PA), Co-Chairs of the Congressional European Union Caucus issued the following statement:

“As co-chairs of the Congressional European Union Caucus, we celebrate the recent news that the European Commission has recommended to grant Georgia candidate status to the EU. We congratulate the Georgian people – who have demonstrated unwavering support for European values – on this major achievement. As EU President Josep Borrell stated, the door is open for Georgia to join the EU if its reform efforts are sustained.”
