Wilson Statement on Passing of Dr. Barbara Nielsen

Washington, DC - Congressman Joe Wilson issued the following statement on the passing of Dr. Barbara Nielsen:

     “Roxanne and I extend our deepest sympathy to Dennis Nielsen and the family of Dr. Barbara Nielsen on her passing today.

     “Our family will always cherish her success as the first Republican State Superintendent of Education for South Carolina. As a champion for student achievement, she fully supported local election school boards.

     “At all times South Carolinians knew Dr. Nielsen was firm in her support of the highest standards for all students everywhere.”
