Today, Congressman Joe Wilson, (R-S.C.) made the following remarks in response to a vote by Senator Ernest Hollings, (D-S.C.), against passage of S. Amdt. 1795, a resolution commending the Armed Forces of the United States in the War on Terrorism. Senator Hollings was the only senator to vote against passage of the resolution, which passed yesterday 98-1.

Today, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) announced that the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Justice awarded separate grants totaling over $3 million to school districts in the Second Congressional District of South Carolina.

Today, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) announced that Barnwell County will receive $163,271 through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The funds were made available through the Health Care Facilities Construction Project under the Health Resources and Services Administration.

Today, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) announced the promotion of Earl F. Brown, Jr., a Columbia resident, to Deputy District Director of the Second Congressional District of South Carolina. Mr. Brown, who previously served as Special Assistant to Rep. Wilson, will continue to work from the Midlands Congressional Office located at 1700 Sunset Boulevard in West Colombia, S.C.
