“Mr. Speaker, yesterday we learned that jobless claims dropped to a two and half year low, further signifying the success of Republican tax relief championed by President George W. Bush. This follows last week’s historic news that the economy is growing at the highest rate in nearly twenty years, as the GDP rose by 7.2% in the last quarter,” said Congressman Wilson.

Eisenhower changed the name of the holiday to include all veterans in 1954.”

Today, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) applauded the news of significant economic growth. According to details released today, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by a 7.2% annual rate from July to September, the fastest growth since 1984. Also, 57,000 jobs were created in September, the first increase in eight months.
