On February 5, Congressman Joe Wilson released the following statement following the Senate vote to acquit President Donald Trump:

"Congress has been occupied because of House Democrats' obsession with impeaching President Donald Trump, an obsession that began even before he was elected to office. I am thankful that today the Senate voted to acquit the President and Congress can finally get back to work for the American people. I am grateful that President Trump will now always be credited as acquitted."

"I am grateful to have chaired today's Helsinki Commission hearing on Human Rights and Democracy in Europe and for the bipartisan Congressional representation at today's hearing. As an election observer in Bulgaria 30 years ago, I learned firsthand the importance of human rights to a healthy Democracy. America must remain committed to the protection and preservation of human rights in Europe and around the world."


January 9, 2020

On January 9, Congressman Joe Wilson released the following statement on the vote to limit President Trump's Power on Iran:

"House Democrats' vote to tie the hands of President Trump from being able to protect American families is again senseless partisan politics. Soleimani was a merciless terrorist that was directly and indirectly responsible for over 600 American deaths. Soleimani also recently directed rocket attacks on U.S. bases, killing an American 13 days ago, and organized an attack on a U.S. embassy last week.

"As an NDAA Committee Conferee, I am thankful to be with President Donald Trump as he signs the NDAA into law. I am extraordinarily grateful that this year's NDAA included my legislation with the most co-sponsors of any bill this Congress, 383, to finally AXE the Widow's Tax. This is a big win for military spouses, families, and servicemembers who for years have been victim to this unjust offset."
