Today, Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) expressed his support for the U.S. Department of Energy's decision to construct a facility at the Savannah River Site (SRS) to manufacture mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for eventual use in commercial nuclear power plants."This decision is a big step in the right direction," said Wilson. "The facility will create new jobs for South Carolinians and will allow SRS to play a key role in the Department of Energy's plans to convert plutonium into MOX fuel. I'd like to congratulate SRS and also express my appreciation to Secretary Bodman for all of his efforts.

The bill passed the U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and is awaiting action on the House Floor."I am grateful for the Committee's decision to increase funding for Highway 278," said Wilson. "Collisions on this highway have increased by 9% over the past seven years.
